It's Done!!! Here is a pic of the end result. I must say, not too bad for my 1st one. I enjoyed my class and the ladies in it, can't wait for the next one to begin.

New Scout
Matthew has joined the Boy Scouts! At first I think he felt out of place, the first 2 meetings he sat in the back against the wall. There are about 24 boys in this troop, ages range from 10 to 18, some maybe a little older (so I understand how he could feel a little nervous). The last meeting, he actually sat at one of the tables with the other boys and became involved. He has been reading his manual trying to learn what he is behind on, and tying knots. They have summer camp for a week in June/July and we have signed him up for that, that is where he will earn a lot of his badges, he is excited and can't wait.

Train Set Up
Rusty has been working hard on his Train Layout. It has been hard, there is no place here on the island to buy supplies for him, most things we have to order or compromise on. Christmas wreaths, aquarium plants, peat moss, pretty much anything he can get his hands on, but it is looking good. Maybe some day soon he will order buildings, add a little life to that town of his....

Stained Glass Week 2
Our second week, what can I say.... Well, alot of glass to cut out now, we need to finish this by next Sat. We have both broken a few pieces here and there, and we know we will break more, unfortunately. Tonight Rusty broke 2 big pieces of his water, with no glass left, so he will have to make a trip to the shop to get more. I have been lucky, so far I don't need to purchase any more glass. Wish us luck, we are having a great time doing this.

Almost Done
I finished my basket weaving class Thurs. night, but not the pineapple. Thursday I added the little nubs and put more stems on the top of it. The rest has to be finished at home, dying the body and stems of the pineapple, along with curling the stems. Myself and one of the other ladies are meeting up next week to finish them off. I will tell you, this was an enjoyable class, very relaxing. The instructor, Lois, will be teaching a floor basket class that starts mid March, I have already signed up. Will post the final pic. when I am done.

Stained Glass Class
Today was mine and Rusty's first day of our stained glass class. We learned how to cut the glass (or break it). One of us (not mentioning which one) didn't do as well as the other. But, I do have to say "that person" had a hard time see the cuts in the glass because of his bifocals until "that person" moved on to the colored glass.
After the practicing, we #'d our patterns and arrowed the direction that our grains will go. Rusty has 55 pieces, and oh my gosh, I had 141 (what was I thinking). He is doing a sea turtle and is using 3 colors, I am doing Koi Fish and goldfish in a pond with a lily flower, using 7 colors.
We go back next Sat. to start cutting our glass, for homework we need to cut out all of our pieces using special scissors that leave a gap in between the cuts. Will try and post pics tomorrow of our patterns.
