What's in a name....
First I would like to thank all of the people who gave me their opinions and suggestions when I asked for help picking a name... I had to pick a grandmotherly name for myself, so Lewis' children had something to call me, other than "Theresa's Mom". This was kind of a difficult decision, I will be called this for the rest of my life. Nanny and Nana have been taken by my Mom and Rusty's Mom, didn't want to be called anything that started with a "G" (sounds so old), shoot, I am not even 40. So I have been on a time limit, have a gift that I have made for Cody that needed to be signed before it was finished. Here are the suggestions people have given me: Grandmother, Momma 2, Momma Sr, Tutu (Hawaiian), Granny, Oma, Ol' Granny, Old Lady, Memaw, Noni and Nonna (Italian), Mimi, Seanmhair (Scottish/Gaelic), Mamaw, Naynay, Grandma Mandy, and Gabby. Alot to pick from!
So I signed the plate I made this morning, and brought it up to the ceramics shop to be turned in. Well, another story...a lady there had told me a while back that I could use the paints they sold in the craft section of Walmart, acrylics, no problem. Being on a short time limit, and Matthew has been sick, I painted the plate at home, along with another one. WRONG!!! Can't use acrylics, had to do both plates all over again, so we spent all day at the ceramics shop. But here is the pic of the original plate I made for Cody's Birthday, with my first signature and as a grandmother....NONI..... So again, thanks.
